Product Description:
Time of day, calendar and alarm / Backlight for easy low light viewing / Water resistant / EKG accurate / 100 hour stopwatch and countdown timer
Amazon.com Product Description:
Specifically made for women, with its lightweight and slender design, this all-in-one heart rate monitor and sports watch by Reebok uses a patented method called "pulse technology" to measure the electrical pulses sent out by your heart each time it beats. Of course, the amazing part is that it works by finger touch rather than the cumbersome chest strap used by most other heart monitors. Within four seconds of touching the sensors on the watch, you can get not only an accurate heart rate reading, but also the number of calories burned during your workout.
The monitor has a programmable heart rate zone with audible and visual alarms to alert you when you get out of zone, plus a settable alarm if you have a maximum rate you should not exceed. Made from durable plastic and fully water-resistant, the device also features regular watch functions, plus a 100-hour stopwatch and countdown timer. It comes with a complete walking and exercise guide and one-year warranty.
  About Reebok
Reebok's United Kingdom-based ancestor company was founded for one of the best reasons possible: athletes wanted to run faster. So, in the 1890s, Joseph William Foster made some of the first known running shoes with spikes in them. By 1895, he was in business making shoes by hand for top runners; and before long his fledgling company, J.W. Foster and Sons, developed an international clientele of distinguished athletes. In 1958, two of the founder's grandsons started a companion company that came to be known as Reebok, named for an African gazelle.

Customer Reviews

Reebock Fitwatch
This was a gift for my wife. She is very happy with the watch. It took her a while to learn how to illuminate the face in low light conditions, but that is no longer an issue. She uses the watch on aerobic machines and tells me it would be easier to use if the finger pads were at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions rather than the 12 and 6 positions. Overall she is quite pleased with the product.

I like it
I like this because I don't have to wear the chest strap. It doesn't take continuous heart rate, but I've found it sufficient for my needs. I can still take my pulse without really stopping what I'm doing. I also like that I can set a custom range to set my goal heart rate in during a work out so that I can make sure I stay in that range without having to remember all the numbers or count by hand. I also like the blue, very pretty for an exercise watch.

Good Purchase for the money
works good for the money spent. It worked perfect everytime that I pushed the buttons, now that I have had it a few weeks sometines it will not read and I have to retry 2-3 times to get it to read.
Nice item for the money

Ok as a watch, bad as a HRM
This watch works fine and all the other features seem to be great, but as a HRM it simply doesn't do the job I need! In one 45 minute session on an elliptical it thought I burned 700+ calories, while the machine and another heart rate monitor both read as me burning about 250. I got this for Christmas otherwise I would have been shopping for a HRM with a chest strap like the Polar F6, which I will probably buy soon.

Inadequate stopwatch
The stopwatch feature on this watch does not allow one to record times for splits. For my wife, this is an essential feature in a running watch. Other potential purchasers might not have a problem with this.

The heart rate measuring function works sometimes, not always.

Product Description:
Manual Target zones, Average heart rate, Time in zone, Calories burned, 1 Minute Recovery Timer, Max heart rate, Analog Transmission, 24-Hour Activity Timer, 100-hour countdown timer.
Amazon.com Product Description:
Combining stylish looks with heart rate monitoring features, this larger Timex Personal Heart Rate Monitor watch (model T5G971) can be worn by both men and women. It features a chest strap heart rate monitor, easily accessible function buttons, durable resin case, and comfortable resin strap with a stylish tapered profile. For integrating heart rate monitoring into your training, this watch enables you to continuously track your heart rate during exercise as well as pre-set target heart rate zones with alarms that notify you when you are out of the zone. It also offers an automatic activity timer and a workout review that recalls activity time and average/peak heart rates. This streamlined watch also has a month/day/date display with 12/24-hour time.
The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. The watch is water resistant to 30 meters (100 feet), which protects it from rain and water splashes. All Timex heart rate monitor sensors have batteries that can be replaced by consumers without requiring them to be returned to the manufacturer.

Customer Reviews

Great watch for the money
I purchased this watch after reviewing several watches online. I spoke with several people who own the Polar brand. I found out you have to send the watch to the company if you need a new battery so I had no desire to purchase it. So far, this watch has performed well. I haven't had any problems setting it up. The heart rate monitor is on track with the cardio machines at the gymn. At the end of my workout, I hit Recall and it scrolls through the workout time, avg heartrate, max heartrate and calories burned. My primary interest is in calories burned but it's nice tracking my heartrate as well. I would highly recommend this watch to anyone who is interested in tracking their cardio health/calories.

Great bang for the buck --REVISED
I'm not a runner, so I don't need all the fancy features included in the more expensive monitors. This unit is basic, but works very well.
The pros:
a) it works - belt sensors need only a small amt of moisture to pick up signal - which matches manual pulse rate exactly
b) very easy to program - can learn to do this in about 10 minutes - and you get to decide what your alarm zone will be, not the watch or some values from a generic list
c) replaceable batteries
d) low cost
The Cons:
None really. The only minor "complaints" I have are the recovery HR, and time in zone features. I actually pay close attention to recovery HRs. THe monitor alone, saves only the change in heart rate at one minute, not the end-exercise HR and the change. Both are really needed for proper interpretation. Also, it will only save one recovery heart rate (at a minute). You can manually trigger successive recovery heart rates at minute intervals by hitting the button each minute, but it will only save the last one (unless you have the data recorder). For zones, you can only program one zone. You have full control over the zone, but you only get one. So at the end of you workout, you can see how much time your HR was in this zone, but no additional infor about where your HR was at other times (other zones). These really aren't complaints since these are the stated (advertised) features of the monitor. But, these would be "wish lists" if I were designing the next version of this device.
BE AWARE THAT THIS MODEL USES ANALOG TRANSMISSION, NOT DIGITAL. AS A RESULT IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE TIMEX DATA RECORDER. I FOUND THIS OUT THE HARD WAY.

Summary: For general fitness / aerobics / wt training, this unit does all you need, does it very well, and for a very reasonable price. When you read some of the "horror" stories of the more expensive or "more popular" brands not working properly, you appreciated the "bang for the buck" of this Timex all the more.

Simply Great
This watch works great and is fairly easy to learn how to use it. As a sport watch, it looks good (too big for my wife though). You can set your weight and your maximum HR (it comes with a little book showing you how to measure this). This watch has helped me a lot to stay "in the zone" (aerobic), because it has a "in zone" alarm.

I hope to update on the status of this watch at [....]

Good product & great guy!
This product was as good as it was advertised. I am sure it works as advertised however it would not function properly for me. The reason is I have an implanted pacemaker and the two are not compatible because of the transmitters operating frequency. The HR Monitor's transmitter seemed to be interfered with by the pacemaker. The HR Monitor DID NOT interfere with the pacemaker. I tried three different ones and two other makes with the same results. I recommend this product to anyone without a pacemaker.

good watch
Good watch/monitor. the chest strap hooks seem weak so I leave them hooked and place the strap on over my head. some treadmills pick up the signal and will display the heart rate. The weak link in this product is the chest strap hooks. If they break the chest strap is useless.

Amazon.com Product Description:
Stay within your ideal training and intensity range while jogging or working out with the Polar A4 pulse monitor watch. The strapless watch is easy to use: just press and hold the silver contact button with your fingertips and you're set.

Just press and hold the silver contact button with your fingertips for your heart rate with the A4.

Knowing your heart rate not only helps you reach your personal fitness goal, but also improves your physical condition in general, as it's vitally important to train at the appropriate intensity level. If you exercise too hard, you may quit before you reach the real benefit, but if you work out too leisurely, you'll struggle to lose weight at all. The A4 helps overcome these problems by encouraging you to map out a complete fitness routine.
By itself, the A4 makes a good training aid, but it's particularly valuable when paired with any Polar transmitter, as the two together offer continuous heart rate monitoring. As a result, you'll know what your heart rate is throughout your workout, rather than only when you press the button. Plus, the A4 offers all the standard sports watch functions, including an alarm, calendar, stopwatch, backlight, and target zone alarms. The watch also offers a calorie counting function and exercise file record when combined with a chest strap transmitter (not included). Finally, the watch comes with a zippered black nylon carrying case for protection.
  About Polar
The first EKG accurate wireless heart rate monitor was invented by Polar back in 1977 as a training tool for the Finnish National Cross Country Ski Team. The concept of "intensity training" by heart rate swept the athletic world in the eighties. By the 1990s, individuals were looking to heart rate monitors not only for performance training needs, but also for achieving everyday fitness goals. Today, the same concept of heart rate training is being used by world-class athletes as well as everyday people trying to lose weight. Polar is the leading brand among consumers, coaches, and personal trainers worldwide and the company is committed to not only producing the best products, but also being the leading educator on the benefits of heart rate based exercise.

Customer Reviews

Useless piece of junk
I bought this watch reading all the reviews and thinking, it couldnt be so bad as some of the reviews have described it. And I was right, it was not nearly as bad as people described, it was much worse. The heart rate monitor is so unreliable. It works one in ten times. Other nine times it will show absurd values like 12, 23 etc.
I thought, ok I will use it as a watch but then the watch died within 4 months of my buying it. I dont knnow if it is the battery or the watch itself is dead. I cant find out how to open the watch to replace the battery. Absolute waste of 50$.

Comfortable and effective
I bought the watch to monitor my calories burned during excercise. The watch is comfortable, it works seemlessly with my Polar chest strap, and is easy to use. I don't find it to be as useful when using only the touch heart monitor, but with the strap it's been a great purchase.

Polar A4 heart rate monitor watch
This watch works great as long as you wear the heart rate transmitter band. I do not think any of them work very well by the method of pressing with the finger. The watch has different options. You can be exercising and see your heart rate or the percentage of your target heart rate. I use it with the percentage and try to keep it between 70 and 75 percent. It beeps each ten minutes you are in the target zone. I already owned the chest strap for use on a rowing machine. The watch allows me to walk and keep up with my heart rate. It has several other features that I have not put to use yet - but might be useful to others.

Polar heart rate monitor
I wanted an inexpensive monitor to measure my heart rate while exercising and this unit works well. Combined with the Polar transmitter on the chest belt I easily maintain my heart rate at the desired level.

For its category, it works well and is a good value.
I already had a chest strap so how I use it is different than those that want the instant HR check. It takes a little time to get used to the buttons and I only learned enough to be able to record my time and ave HR, but it has been working well. The beeps for out of the HR zone are helpful and are loud enough to be heard without being annoying. It is inexpensive for a HR monitor and has worked well, so I consider it a good value.

Muscles, blood vessels and bones are body tissues having a high water content that conduct electricity easily. Body fat is tissue that has little electric conductivity. The monitor sends an extremely weak electrical current through your body to determine the amount of fat tissue. The	weak	electrical current is not felt while operating the Body Fat Analyzer. The monitor	is calculated by a formula that	includes five factors; electric resistance,	height,	weight,	age	and	gender.
What is visceral fat?
Visceral fat is located around the organs. Too much visceral fat is thought to be closely linked to increased level of fat in the bloodstream, which can lead to common conditions such as high cholesterol, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Sedentary life style causes excess visceral fat, and exercise can reduce it quicker than subcutaneous fat (fat located under skin).
What is resting metabolism?
Resting metabolism is the energy to maintain vital functions and it counts 60 to 70% of total energy consumption. Knowing your resting metabolism can help your dietplan. If you can increase daily activity while keeping food intake at resting metabolism level, you can lose weight.
What is skeletal muscle?
Skeletal muscle is muscle attached to the bones that is used to move the body. If you do weight loss without exercise, you may lose skeletal muscle. Skeletal muscle is important to maintain your resting metabolism as well as your functionality. Monitoring skeletal muscle during weight loss is key to avoid weight rebound in the future.

Customer Reviews

You get what you pay for!
Paying less, I got less, but that doesn't mean it has no worth. This heart monitor watch work great for what I got it to do.

product OK, amazon qc is a problem
After reading many reviews of heart rate monitors, I selected the HR-100C as a gift for my uncle. However, I was totally embarrassed because the monitor arrived with dead batteries in it. My uncle called Omron and was told he needed to take it to a watch shop to have the battery replaced. So, if you think you're getting a good deal on a quality product, you may want to reconsider. They capitalize on the hassle of doing a return.
Omron HR-100C Heart Rate Monitor

Omron HR-100C heart Monitor
This watch is OK, It not the best thing you can have. easy to work with but it looks like a cheap kid's watch. I hope this is helpful.

does exactly what it is supposed to do
I've researched just about every sub-0 heart monitor, and after committing to this one, I haven't regretted it once. It does exactly what it is supposed to do: give you an accurate heart rate reading. It's extremely simple to use: make sure you wet the chest band first, put it on, turn on the monitor function - pow! you're monitoring your heart rate. Can't beat it with a stick. I don't have any issues with it losing signal or sporadic heart rate readings like some of the other reviewers.

The band is pretty comfortable and durable; it also has a user-replaceable battery, so no sending it back to the factory for something as simple as a watch battery. Also included is a soft case, which I promptly threw away - the watch is rugged enough that it doesn't need babied. I use mine every day on my runs, so it get sweated on and then run under a tap to wash it off. No issues at all.

This is a no-frills HRM, but along that line, it's exceptional at the one thing you'd buy it for.

Satisfied User
I am well satisfied with the Omron HR-100 heart rate monitor. It does what I wanted, it is economical compared to other heart rate monitors costing considerably more, and is easy to use.
